Moodle and all that

Second day doing the District eTeacher day. Another series of frustrations. Can't print from this machine. Classroom stuff requires a different log in and password. Then Moodle is still a black box. Tried accessing it in various ways – through the school site, through the TSoF site and then through Moodle.org. Wonder if I should go back to the latter and download my own Moodle to use. Told Judy and Trevor I just want to bang my head against a brick wall! They suggested we have a play next Thursday after lunch. Can I wait that long?

On the positive side, I did use a template and draw up a plan for an eEvent – Measuring the Human Body. Interestingly the SACSA outcomes are mostly in Exploring, analysing and modelling data rather than Measurement. emailed it to Sue (Project Officer) as a draft. Explored the Golden Ratio but it seems more like a Middle or Senior Years activity.

Atomic Learning is a great website for tutorials. Explored one on podcasting. I couldn't find one on Moodle but did find one on SMARTBoards. It's a UK site. I think they use SMARTBoards extensively.

Earlier in the day, with Sally's help, I printed off my Inspiration maps on a District eTeacher's responsibilities and what an eEvent is. I need to buy some blu tack to pin them up. Then, when I come in next week it will be 'in my face'.
